Bring the family, and enjoy an afternoon at the Colorado Railroad Museum! Mid-January through mid-May, we offer train rides every Saturday. Late May through mid-August, train rides are offered Thursday-Sunday. Saturday train rides then continue into late October, interrupted in September by three Day Out With Thomas event weekends.
Train rides operate between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., with half-hourly departures. The ride takes you on a loop around the Museum’s 15-acre Rail Yard, and lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes. There are lots of other activities to enjoy at the Museum as well, such as exploring our outdoor railyard, viewing our indoor exhibits, and marveling at a massive HO Scale model railroad layout as well as an impressive, outdoor Garden Railroad. All Aboard for adventure!
Train rides are offered for a small fee in addition to your Museum Admission: $4 adults and seniors, $2 ages 2-17, under age 2 is free on a ticketed adult’s lap. Members ride free! Capacity is limited, thus we recommend advance ticket purchase to reserve your preferred departure time. Please check our website for the latest information regarding masking or other requirements.
For 2022, we will be operating open-air coaches (also closed ones in colder weather) pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive on most operating days. A steam locomotive may be substituted on selected dates! Our popular “Galloping Goose” rail motorcar will likely not be operating during the 2022 season due to ongoing concerns related to social distancing. For general information about the Colorado Railroad Museum, please visit https://www.ColoradoRailroadMuseum.org.

Co-curated with children from six months old to age eight from across the Front Range, the exhibition Clyfford Still, Art, and the Young Mind, reveals how children think about art. Designed to engage both children and adults, the exhibition will be on view from March 11 to August 7 at the Clyfford Still Museum.
The Museum’s first four galleries chart the artistic journey of Clyfford Still in a chronological narrative, and includes artworks selected with families and children in mind and hung lower on the walls to account for the height of young visitors. The remaining galleries feature Clyfford Still, Art, and the Young Mind, the first show CSM curated in collaboration with the community.

The theme inVISIBLE | hyperVISIBLE captures the struggles of Asians and Asian Americans to survive and thrive in the face of strong anti-Asian sentiment. Asians and Asian Americans are alternately made invisible and hypervisible through stereotypes such as “model minorities,” “honorary whites,”“perpetual foreigners,” and “enemy aliens.” Yet, Asian America is remarkably complex due to cultural diversity, various migration routes, and different socioeconomic circumstances. inVISIBLE | hyperVISIBLE will showcase Asian and Asian American artists, scholars, performers, and community organizers from different ethnic, gender, and geographic backgrounds.

KISSm is the Premier and only KISS tribute band in the Rocky Mountain Region. Formed in 2013 by Michael Morrow (Starchild) and Jeff Sekera (Demon) they dug in creating an experience that made you feel like you were at a show. Once Craig Jahns (Spaceman) joined shortly thereafter, they really became authentic as every bend and vibrato is spot on. Tim Elliott (Catman) joined a few years later forming what has been the band since 2018. In authentic costumes and full makeup, they take the stage in 7″ platform shoes ripping through a KISS catalog that is vast. Fans have come to know that they will play the mainstays but change their setlist for every show. You never know which deep cut will be in the show that night. Blood, smoking guitar, you betcha. The bulbs of the KISS sign illuminate the stage, this is the alter of fandom of a band that captures your imagination. The band only plays about 6 shows a year and it’s always a rendezvous of fans enjoying their favorite band.

This version of the Gothic classic tells the complete story of the romantic monster from the Carpathian Mountains near the Borgo Pass. The action is continuous and the excitement is nonstop after Van Helsing’s entrance at the opening. The old professor has come to the aid of his friend and student, Dr. Seward, at Whitby Asylum in England. Mina Murray is suffering from a mysterious ailment which threatens to postpone her marriage to Jonathan Harker. Van Helsing has come fresh from scientific detective work in London investigating a frighteningly similar case. Very soon the beast joins them, and he is most serious about his plans for Mina. But the unholy vampire has met his final match in Van Helsing and friends.
Our hikes are usually at a moderate level/pace and last no more than 2 hours.
When you first arrive, you will be greeted by your hiking guide who will lead the way down the trail to each scene location. Once you arrive at a scene location, you can sit back and relax and watch a scene from the production. Once the scene is complete, we all gather our things and hike to the next location.

Event Details
Since its release in May 2021, the book “The Holly: Five Bullets, One Gun, and the Struggle to Save an American Neighborhood” has sparked controversy amongst Denver residents and city officials. This community dialogue will center on themes from the book — specifically police use of confidential informants, gang and crime reduction, the targeting of activists, and the stories of the people impacted. Stylistically manic, artistically brilliant, AJ Finney is an eclectic midwesterner with a passion for the psychedelic scene of the Sixties. Comedy, jam bands and Volkswagens — that’s him. He’s an eco-friendly, improvisational, sometimes philosophical, patchouli-soaked quipster. AJ’s organic approach is refreshing and his poetic stream of consciousness style makes for a colorful and unforgettable comedic experience.
And the other great comics on the bill are each their own kind of funny, which is what makes these shows so great.

Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul’s church was a modest storefront. Now it’s a gleaming megachurch. Paul is about to deliver a sermon that will shake the foundation of his parish to its core. Certainty and doubt come to a head as his stunning revelation just may convert his congregation of thousands into a congregation of one. A compassionate nuanced look at faith in America—and the trouble with changing your mind.

A Band Called Alexis is Colorado’s premier rockin’ country band. Any events from concerts, county fairs, street dances, weddings, honky tonks & dance parties … you name it, they’ve done it, and love it!
A Band Called Alexis covers a variety of neo and traditional country artists’ (plus r&b, blues, soul, gospel), and a handful of original songs, all featuring the outstanding lead vocals of Alexis and her band.
Alexis grew up a star in the midwest, singing for her momma at the age of 3. She brings to every performance her stage savvy, performing skills, and unique voice; fronting her veteran band. A Band Called Alexis’ show has high energy and brings so much fun that you will be left wanting more long after the last note!
The ThreadBarons -There’s a dark thread meandering through this music. It weaves its way through tales of sin, regret, and desperation. Of loneliness and resolve. Leaving an imperfect fabric — a refreshing polar opposite to perfectly posed Instagram lives.
There’s a melancholy soul here that runs to the bone.
The music of the Threadbarons is informed by the vast variety of life. Members hail from New York and Pennsylvania; the midwest and west Texas. They range in age from their freshly matured 30s to their deeply weathered 60s.
You’ll hear the inspirations: Dylan in his electric years; Wilco in their prime. You may be reminded of The Band, as various members take the mic. But you might not hear a more authentic commentary on the very human road we all travel.

The Frog Princess
Dating in present times can make you turn green, and the term “dating pool” is just a metaphor, isn’t it? Not when your future spouse is an actual frog who lives in a pond. Most people would be hopping mad at the prospect of marrying an amphibian, but our prince is jumping at the chance to get to know his groovy green gal. Too bad the same can’t be said for his family. Join us on the trail for one of the most ribbit-ing tales ever toad.
The Three Little Pigs VS the Apocalypse
It’s the year 2520 and things are a little crazy. The apocalypse is now and the world has changed a lot! Scientists have tried to fuse human DNA with the DNA of animals. Three siblings have escaped the lab, enhanced with the DNA of a pig (go ahead and laugh, you know you want to.) These super pig-people rebels are on an epic search for a new home. Preferably one with less lab coats. Rumor has it there is one safe haven left, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. Can the siblings make it to safety before the Big Bad Wolf, the most fearsome bounty hunter alive, catches them? You’ll find out in this fun, crazy, adventurous retelling of a family classic.
