PBS12 FilmJam

PBS12 FilmJam is a monthly filmmaking program where local creators come together to develop and complete
original, broadcast-ready projects within a single month.

FilmJam emphasizes collaboration, momentum, and finished work. The focus is on making something real,
working alongside other filmmakers, and seeing a project through from idea to broadcast.

PBS12 provides studio space, technical support, and a broadcast platform at no cost. After screening and broadcast,
the finished project remains the property of its creators.

Program Structure

FilmJam runs on a focused one-month production cycle.

  • Pitch & Pre-Production: Filmmakers pitch ideas and plan the selected project
  • Production: Filming with access to PBS12 studio space and technical support
  • Post-Production: Editing and finishing the project
  • Screening & Broadcast: The completed project is screened locally and broadcast on PBS12

Projects must be completed within the month. There is no runtime limit.

Participation

FilmJam is open and pitch-based.

Filmmakers attend in person at PBS12 on the first Tuesday of each month and pitch an idea for consideration.

Supporting materials such as scripts, storyboards, props, or visual references are welcome but not required.

Selected projects are developed collaboratively over the course of the month.

FilmJam takes place at PBS12 studios.
