ICYMI: What’s Been Going on at PBS12 in Recent Weeks
October 2025
The Business of Colorado
We recently launched a new series, The Business of Colorado, hosted by the incomparable Frannie Matthews. The series, which airs during Studio 12 and is also available to stream anytime, features conversations with some of the biggest names shaping the economic landscape of our state.
As part of this series, we were on-site during Colorado Startup Week where we conducted over 17 interviews with regional and national leaders in business and economics.
This series is also available as a podcast! Find The Business of Colorado wherever you get your podcasts.
We Hosted Photo & Video Journalists from Across the Country!
The National Press Photographer Association (NPPA) chose our headquarters in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood to host their annual Advanced Storytelling Workshop.
The weeklong event brought together professional journalists from across the country to connect, share best practices, attend lectures, and work on projects together. Our own Rico Romero (pictured below) was integral in bringing the event here and was also asked to speak to the conference.

PBS12 Goes Nationwide with Colorado Soundstage
After months of hard work, Colorado Soundstage premiered on August 28th. The show, which features big name acts performing at iconic Colorado outdoor venues, was picked up for national distribution by PBS.
All episodes are now available to stream via PBS Passport. Clips will also be appearing during Studio 12 and on our YouTube in the coming weeks.
We Won an Emmy!
Our original documentary, Decode Colorado: Water, was recently recognized at the Heartland Emmy Awards in the category of Historical/Cultural – Long Form.
The Emmy went to Alan Domínguez and Raúl Paz-Pastrana, the incredible filmmakers we partnered with to bring the story to life.
Decode Colorado is available to stream anytime through PBS Passport or YouTube.
