Jochen Rindt: Formula 1’S First Pop Star

A playboy and motorsport’s first superstar, Jochen Rindt quickly gained a reputation for fast and glamorous living. Born in Germany and raised in Austria, he did much to popularise motorsport in the 1960s. It ended tragically in 1970, when he became Formula One World Champion posthumously, after dying in an accident on the track at Monza.
