With a changing climate comes changing weather that can be deadly and unpredictable.

This Friday evening series is designed to celebrate advances in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) through unique programming centered around our amazing 3D Daily Films. These fun and educational evenings will be jam-packed with all things film related – a great night out for couples, families and lifelong learners of every age*!

Join us for a sneak preview of Extreme Weather 3D on the Giant Screen before it opens to the general public. The movie will conclude with a panel of CU experts discussing all things weather.

Activities include:

  • Tornado in a Tube – Have you ever wanted to see a tornado up close and personal? We’ll give you the next best thing, without you having to risk life and limb.
  • Trembling Towers – Can you build a tower that can withstand an earthquake? Test your engineering abilities by building a tower on top of an earthquake simulation table!
  • STEAM Jeopardy: Extreme Weather Edition – This game will test your weather skills and knowledge in a fun and competitive jeopardy style game.
  • Extreme Weather Fact or Fiction – There’s lots of myths surrounding extreme weather, it’s hard to know what is real and what isn’t. Learn about amazing advances in weather science by sorting through the fiction to find the facts.
  • Gauging the Greenhouse Effect – You’ve certainly heard about “the greenhouse effect”—now, watch it happen before your eyes in this live demonstration!

* Our STEAM Powered events are geared towards adults and families with children ages 8 .
