Project Helping’s “Putt-Putt for Prevention” event is a suicide prevention fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds will empower innovative programming to improve teen mental wellness. Project Helping is a local nonprofit that improves mental wellness by hosting over 700 volunteer events each year that create purpose and connection for both the volunteer and the community.
As teenagers have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 mental health crisis, in the early months of 2021, visits to emergency departments for suspected suicide attempts increased by 50.6% for girls aged 12-17 years and 3.7% for boys aged 12-17 years compared with the same period in 2019. The public can purchase one ticket ($30) or four tickets ($100) to this event (here).
Registration grants access to a mini-golf tournament complete with food trucks, drinks, music, fun guest speakers and a unique, interactive art installation where attendees can share answers to various mental health-related topics.
