Event Details
Two of the most influential 19th century Romantic era composers were the German wife and husband duo of Clara Schumann and Robert Schumann. Each wrote a Piano Concerto in A minor. This is a unique opportunity to hear both of these gems on the same evening played by internationally acclaimed pianist Sara Buechner. Under the close mentorship of the Schumanns, a young Johannes Brahms created the Variations on a Theme by Joseph Haydn. The evening also includes a rarely performed overture by German romanticist Carl Maria von Weber, from his early opera Peter Schmoll und seine Nachbarn.
