Event Details

One Night Stand Theater plays cops and robbers when “Law and Disorder” takes place on Sunday, August 4, 7:00 p.m. at Vintage Theatre in Aurora.

This one-night-only production features short comedies and quirky stories about the world of law enforcement and the criminals they pursue:

  • Police ponder a timeless question at a roadside crime scene in “Fowl Play” by Kay Phillips.
  • A female serial killer has an odd way of choosing her victims in “Killing Gary” by Dan Weatherer.
  • A police lineup proves no place for comedy in “The Lineup” by Patrick Dorn.
  • A traffic accident offers a chance for new love in “A Date with Destiny” by Jeffrey Neuman.
  • An abstract painting is vandalized for abstract reasons in “The Rothko” by Nicholas Thurkettle.
  • The dining is less than fine for a private detective during a “Late Night at Sam’s” by Jennie McDonald.
  • Roadside assistance in a Southern town gets weird in “Death and the Hubcap” by Linda Berry.

“We’ve gathered a collection of offbeat stories about crime and punishment for this show,” says James O’Leary, One Night Stand Theater’s artistic director. “The evening features tough detectives, rural deputies, security guards, hardened criminals and impulsive citizens in light-hearted sketches and dark comedies.”

One Night Stand Theater is a Denver-area theater company that has presented one-night-only evenings of theatrical staged readings for over ten years, each with its own theme. Performances have featured folk tales, American history, old-time radio, social issues, and plays about war, romance, and world travel.

“Law and Disorder” takes place on Sunday, August 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Vintage Theatre, located at 1468 Dayton St., one half-block south of Colfax Avenue in Old Downtown Aurora. The show is recommended for mature audiences. Tickets are $10.
