DENVER, CO – Author and speaker the Reverend Rob W. Lee IV will keynote a special evening at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 at Be3 United Methodist Dinner Church, (1195 Newport St. Denver, CO 80220) discussing the intersection of faith, racism and privilege.
Since the events in Charlottesville, Virginia and many other racially charged acts of violence across our country, faith leaders have been called out for their silence. People of all faith traditions cannot ignore the systemic injustices rooted in race in our country. And even more people can no longer ignore the white supremacy permeating our culture. Be3 Dinner Church seeks to reconcile the ways in which the church contributes to these systems and partner with our neighbors to engage in social justice work.
We invite you to join us for an evening of worship, food and conversation as we welcome Rev. Lee to Be3. Rev. Lee not only has his own family’s history to wrestle with, but also feels the call to address major systemic issues in our society.
Be3 Dinner Church will offer this event with the support of the Mountain Sky Conference of the United Methodist Church’s Community Engagement Team. The Mountain Sky Conference is dedicated to “live in God’s grace and abundance as we lead a re-energized peaceful and compassionate movement to claim the life-changing love of Jesus Christ for ALL people.”
(Thursday) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
