Event Details

Since when was arguing about winning and losing? Too often do we engage in discussions with family, friends, and strangers with a hunger for victory and a fear for loss. When seen as an opportunity to learn something, we can redefine conflict as something not only necessary, but good. On October 18th, join TEDxMileHigh and OvalOptions, a Denver-based conflict management firm, as they host a workshop with trained facilitators and teach methods of embracing disagreements as opportunities for growth.

Workshop

Argument is a form of persuasion; a competitive method to assert control over another person.  Arguing can be addictive, perhaps even fun, yet it prevents the realization that once engaged, it’s a losing effort. But this doesn’t mean that constructing strong arguments is a bad thing. Through the tenets of conflict management, we will illustrate how this seemingly paradoxical stance can help transform differences into progress. This will not be comfortable for you. You may not experience “good feelings”. And that’s the point. It is interactive, so prepare to be challenged.
