04oct6:00 pm9:00 pmCyanotype Art Workshop with Aspen Hochhalter "Alt Ink"

Event Details

What is ALT ink? Simply put, an intermingling of 21st century photographic technology with 19th century photgraphic chemistry. In this workshop, we will utilize digital negatives and cyanotype chemisty–one of the first permanent photgraphic technologies discoverd by Sir John Hirschel in 1835–to transform an inkjet print of one of your digital images into a handcrafted one of a kind photographic print.

All you will need are a few digital images. You will learn how to coat and process cyanotype chemistry, get an overview of the ALT ink process, and come away iwth at least one Alt=ink combo print as well as a straight cyanotype print. If you have a laptop with Photoshop, bring it!
