Ballet Ariel’s exciting debut of their magical ‘Cinderella’ at the Lakewood Cultural Center is on Saturday, April 30 at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m.
Ballet Ariel invents a magical world that combines classical dancing and a creative vision of the enchanting fairy tale. The mean Stepsisters dance wildly like pop stars, and the spring, summer, autumn, and winter flower fairies dance with the coachmen. In the beautiful ballroom scene, ladies perform graceful waltzes while the Stepsisters cavort around the ballroom, attempting to attract the Prince. Instead, the beautiful Cinderella with the help of the Fairy Godmother, captivates the handsome Prince. In the end, the hilarious antics of the Stepsisters to fit Cinderella’s slipper do not distract the Prince from finding the lovely Cinderella. The ballet is danced to gorgeous music composed by Sergei Prokofiev. The original choreography is by Ballet Ariel’s Director Ilena Norton with duets by Oleg Dedogryuk and Gregory Gonzales. Our choreographer and director says that “Cinderella will delight audiences of all ages”.
Ballet Ariel is offering three performances of ‘Cinderella’ on Saturday, April 30 at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at the Lakewood Cultural Center. Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $22 for students and seniors, and $20 for children, which can be purchased at www.Lakewood.org/Tickets, 303-987-7845 or at the Lakewood Cultural Center Box Office, 470 S. Allison Parkway.
