Backporch series at the Dairy Arts Center loading dock. Social distanced
Come round to the back of the Dairy on an afternoon or evening for a live performance. We use our loading dock as a stage, and our shaded parking lot for a safely distanced and masked audience area, to enjoy the irreplaceable experience of real live people putting on a show. Beyond your attendance, we ask that you help us create the space for this to happen by following the appropriate guidelines, protecting yourselves and each other in the communal act of art appreciation with mutual respect. Each party will maintain a safe distance from others, as marked on the asphalt, and wear a face-covering at all times. Let this be an example of how our community holds each other up in times of need.
Last December, Nancy was named the 2019 Champion of the 40th Seattle International Comedy Competition, becoming the second woman to win this Competition. The last woman to win it was in 1988 folks! She won the 2018 Boston Comedy Festival and is the ONLY woman to EVER win that festival. You may have seen her at the Dairy Arts Center when she became the 2016 Grand Champion of Truth Be Told. She will be joined by Jose Macall, host of the weekly “Three AM” podcast and veteran of many comedy festivals, as well as lots of dives and dingy clubs. Kate Strobel and Salma Zaky, both smart, both funny, are also on the bill, and our own Zoe Rogers will open and host the evening. Come laugh in your mask; the laughter is infectious.
