Augustana Arts presents “And on Earth, Peace,” the Augustana Lutheran Church Festival Christmas Concert, at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 17 at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda Ave. in Denver. This event is free and open to the public. Reserve tickets online at or by calling 303-388-4962.  

Augustana Lutheran Church’s Chancel ChoirAugustana Ringers, and AVE are joined by Stratus Chamber Orchestra to present their annual Christmas Concert featuring Gerald Finzi’s “Et in Terra Pax” along with Christmas favorites “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem” and “Angels We Have Heard on High” creatively arranged by South Carolina composer Dan Forrest  and New York composer John Walkner.  Augustana Ringers present an arrangement of  “Go Tell It on the Mountain” by Joel Raney for handbells and percussion. The evening includes a carol sing-along. 

Dick Larson, director of Augustana’s Chancel Choir, has been involved in church, community, and music education for over thirty years. He was named “Choral Conductor of the Year” in 1989 by the Colorado American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and was most recently honored as the recipient of Luther College’s first annual Weston H. Noble Award honoring excellence in the field of choral music. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and a Masters in Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Cindy Lindeen-Martin is Minister of Music and Organist and celebrates 18 years of Music Ministry at Augustana. There she oversees an active music ministry, directs four graded handbell choirs, and plays the organ for all worship services

Since 1997, Augustana Arts has been serving the community by presenting the artistry of resident performing groups, internationally renowned touring artists and accomplished locally-based ensembles of many genres. The resident groups – Stratus Chamber Orchestra, Colorado Women’s Chorale (CWC), and Colorado Men’s Chorale -perform at a variety of venues in addition to the majestic Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver.  Augustana Arts serves educational outreach through the City Strings program, an inspired vision to provide youngsters with great need access to high quality, small group music instruction free of cost afterschool at several metro locations.
