Co-curated with children from six months old to age eight from across the Front Range, the exhibition Clyfford Still, Art, and the Young Mind, reveals how children think about art. Designed to engage both children and adults, the exhibition will be on view from March 11 to August 7 at the Clyfford Still Museum.
The Museum’s first four galleries chart the artistic journey of Clyfford Still in a chronological narrative, and includes artworks selected with families and children in mind and hung lower on the walls to account for the height of young visitors. The remaining galleries feature Clyfford Still, Art, and the Young Mind, the first show CSM curated in collaboration with the community.

This version of the Gothic classic tells the complete story of the romantic monster from the Carpathian Mountains near the Borgo Pass. The action is continuous and the excitement is nonstop after Van Helsing’s entrance at the opening. The old professor has come to the aid of his friend and student, Dr. Seward, at Whitby Asylum in England. Mina Murray is suffering from a mysterious ailment which threatens to postpone her marriage to Jonathan Harker. Van Helsing has come fresh from scientific detective work in London investigating a frighteningly similar case. Very soon the beast joins them, and he is most serious about his plans for Mina. But the unholy vampire has met his final match in Van Helsing and friends.
Our hikes are usually at a moderate level/pace and last no more than 2 hours.
When you first arrive, you will be greeted by your hiking guide who will lead the way down the trail to each scene location. Once you arrive at a scene location, you can sit back and relax and watch a scene from the production. Once the scene is complete, we all gather our things and hike to the next location.

The Frog Princess
Dating in present times can make you turn green, and the term “dating pool” is just a metaphor, isn’t it? Not when your future spouse is an actual frog who lives in a pond. Most people would be hopping mad at the prospect of marrying an amphibian, but our prince is jumping at the chance to get to know his groovy green gal. Too bad the same can’t be said for his family. Join us on the trail for one of the most ribbit-ing tales ever toad.
The Three Little Pigs VS the Apocalypse
It’s the year 2520 and things are a little crazy. The apocalypse is now and the world has changed a lot! Scientists have tried to fuse human DNA with the DNA of animals. Three siblings have escaped the lab, enhanced with the DNA of a pig (go ahead and laugh, you know you want to.) These super pig-people rebels are on an epic search for a new home. Preferably one with less lab coats. Rumor has it there is one safe haven left, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. Can the siblings make it to safety before the Big Bad Wolf, the most fearsome bounty hunter alive, catches them? You’ll find out in this fun, crazy, adventurous retelling of a family classic.

FEATURING Colorado’s First James Turrell Skyspace & New York’s Ballet Hispánico
Opening Day Celebrations Include the Unveiling of FOUR Outdoor Art Installations
GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS, COLO. – Green Box is thrilled to announce a captivating new Skyspace by legendary light and space artist James Turrell will begin to welcome visitors on June 18 – opening day of the Green Box Arts Festival. The installation is the first Skyspace in Colorado and the first in the world to be carved into the side of a mountain.
Green Box’s Skyspace by James Turrell showcases a one-of-a-kind kinetic experience that shifts one’s perception of nature and sky through contemporary light, color, and space – an experiential work of art unlike anywhere else in the world. The 78-year-old Californian’s work aims to engage viewers with the limits and wonder of art in nature. The journey in Colorado begins with an inspirational trek up one of two new nature trails through the Red Butte Recreation Area and Town Overlook, with views overlooking the iconic Gazebo Lake Park. From there, Skyspace pilgrims continue their ascent to the final destination.
“James Turrell is known for cultivating peaceful and powerful environmental works of art that focus on human perception,” said Christian Keesee, co-founder of Green Box. “His Skyspaces may be understood as creative observatories – a combination of architecture, sculpture, and atmosphere perfectly positioned in nature.”
The Historic Green Mountain Falls Foundation commissioned the Skyspace to be installed in Green Mountain Falls. Green Box Executive Director Scott RC Levy noted his first experience in a Skyspace was transformative.
“Skyspaces are a true representation of art that responds to humanity’s need for wonder, serenity, and connection,” Levy said. “There is no way of understanding its impact until you visit one yourself. We hope visitors looking for renewed inspiration and meaningful new perspectives will return to the serenity of Green Mountain Falls to enjoy our Skyspace season after season, year after year.”
The Skyspace isn’t the only showstopper this summer at Green Box’s 14th annual arts festival! Join us Saturday, June 18 as we celebrate FOUR visual art unveilings. In addition to the Skyspace, the festival’s opening day will also celebrate: Communication X9, by Israeli artist Yaacov Agam; Meltwater, by Green Box Artist-in-Residence Michael Krondl; and a new Keith Haring Outdoor Fitness Court®.
Communication X9 is a beloved artwork that for decades sat on Chicago’s prominent Magnificent Mile. Standing at an impressive 43-feet tall, the stainless-steel tower changes appearance as you move around its three sides. Meltwater is a 2-demensional display resulting from a three-step process sourced from photographs from the region. And, part of an initiative launched by the National Fitness Campaign, a new Keith Haring Outdoor Fitness Court® will be available for free access year-round this summer. This permanent, town-owned feature at Pool Park is designed to activate public spaces by uniting the inspiration of world class art and life changing benefits through access to healthy infrastructure.
DANCE: New York’s Ballet Hispánico, one of America’s Cultural Treasures and leading Latinx organizations, will take the stage multiple times during the festival. Led by Artistic Director & CEO Eduardo Vilaro, the company is comprised of a group of technically profound artists who embody the complexity of contemporary dance today. Fourteen company dancers will perform 18 1 and Línea Recta, works by two highly sought-after choreographers, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Gustavo Ramírez Sansano.
During their time in Green Mountain Falls, Ballet Hispánico will also travel to communities throughout southern Colorado to provide community engagement, including free masterclasses, showcasing social dances that have helped make the company famous for the last 50 years.
MUSIC: The Opening Night Block Party will commence with a new work performed by the current poet laureate of the Pikes Peak region Ashley Cornelius, followed by a concert with the Tejon Street Corner Thieves. Don’t miss our second Block Party, the annual 4th of July event featuring The Denver Dolls and Latin GRAMMY winner El Twanguero. More opportunities to enjoy live music abound with a concert by French/Chinese/American songwriter and accordionist Jessica Fichot, Sunday Sing-Alongs, and our new “Open Mic Night” events where you can show off your music, comedy or dance skills – cabaret style!
EVENTS: Two outdoor Film Nights will be presented by Rocky Mountain Women’s Film: Los Hermanos and An Evening of Shorts, featuring Gramma & Ginga and My Indiana Muse, and a work from the critically-acclaimed Youth Documentary Academy. For theater fans, join Theatreworks for two FREE outdoor performances of an abridged version of Shakespeare’s classic, The Tempest. Grab your pup and join us for the 2nd annual Pooch Parade and enjoy performances by The Canine Stars! – an award-winning Stunt Dog Show featured on America’s Got Talent. The entire family will enjoy spending the day at our first Puppet Palooza while enjoying shows, workshops, and even a puppet museum! More fan-favorites return this year with nature hikes, Astronomy & S’mores and our always popular ArtDesk Conversations – featuring Colorado’-based author, scientist, and autism and animal welfare activist Temple Grandin.
CLASSES & CAMPS: Once again classes, camps, and culinary arts are on the agenda, ensuring there’s something of interest for all ages to get creative in Green Box’s inspiring atmosphere. Children’s camps, for the K-12 set are presented through the Manitou Springs School District and include: Green Box Construction Arts Camp; Green Box Integrated Arts Camp; 48-Hour Musical Camp. Our popular Toddler Time series for wee ones and their adult friends returns. Culinary classes include Cocina Corazón’s Tamales and Salsa Making, Apple and Chicken Pot Pies with Lisa Huizenga, Sommelier sessions with Howard Price, and a Scotch on the Rocks event. Daily Yoga classes are back, as is Silversmithing 101 – and a new Silversmithing Keepsake Lidded Box workshop has been added to the schedule. Additional visual art classes include Fiber Fusion and Visible Mending, along with more opportunities to get creative including our Stand-Up Comedy and Puppet Making workshops.
Experience Green Box on Your Own This Summer!

Green Box was launched in 2009 in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado and has grown into a year-round incubator of multidisciplinary visual and performing arts. The organization provides residents and visitors from Colorado and around the world the opportunity to participate in the creative arts in the natural beauty that awaits at the foothills of Pikes Peak. Anchored by an annual summer arts festival, Green Box also engages with community year-round through an active Artist-in-Residence program, arts education, and public art installations. Renowned for its public art installations, a selection of past installations include 1.8 Green Mountain Falls by Janet Echelman; The Musical Swings by Daily tous les jours; Field of Light and Tepees by Bruce Munro; and Footprint in Green by Patrick Dougherty. Dance troupes that have performed include 2021 Green Box Artists-in-Residence American Ballet Theatre, New York’s KEIGWIN COMPANY, Bridgman I Packer Dance, the Oklahoma City Ballet, and internationally-acclaimed ballroom duo Antonina Skobina and Denys Drozdyuk.
Green Mountain Falls and Ute Pass –At an altitude of 7,800 ft., Green Mountain Falls is home to various festivals and events year-round. Most notably, however, it is known for the nationally-acclaimed Green Box Arts Festival. Surrounded by the Pike National Forest s, the town is located near popular area attractions including the Cave of the Winds, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. An extremely popular hiking destination, visitors also enjoy fishing, swimming, biking, tennis courts and ice skating in winter, as well as the town’s unique restaurants, pubs and shops. The town is just 20 minutes away from the center of Colorado Springs, and closer to Manitou Springs, Woodland Park and other Ute Pass communities such as Cascade and Chipita Park.

Music Director Peter Oundjian opens the 2022 Festival season with special guests: Boulder’s own Takács Quartet. This Grammy Award-winning quartet joins the orchestra for John Adams’ Absolute Jest, which samples, twists, and builds upon Beethoven’s themes, in particular his late string quartets; Adams has referred to his Jest as “Beethoven that has been passed through a hall of mirrors.” Dvořák’s iconic Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” was written in the “new world” of America but teeming with Bohemian folk influence as well. Composer Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers nods to a notebook entry written by Beethoven and explores “the unpredictable ways of fate” and the uncertainties of life.

Surrounded by the Pike National Forest s, the town is located near popular area attractions including the Cave of the Winds, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.

A tour of Erie-based Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary is much more than a fun day spent getting to know our amazing family of rescued animals. In fact, it is nearly impossible to leave without developing a deeper understanding of the unique personalities and complex emotional lives that all animals lead.
On the Connect Tour, you will get to meet a select number of our residents on this family-friendly one-hour tour. As you listen to the inspiring stories of our residents, you will get to connect and cuddle with them as individuals. You will also get to sample delicious food at the end of the tour.
On the Compassion Tour, you will get to meet all of our residents in an immersive approximately two-hour tour. You will get to connect and cuddle with our residents, hear their inspiring stories, and learn about where they came from. You will learn how we can all create a more compassionate and sustainable future for all beings, and get to sample delicious food at the end of the tour. Due to the duration of this tour, the recommended minimum age is ten years old.

Chris Daniels formed The Kings in 1984 and was joined by Freddi Gowdy of the Freddi Henchi Band in 2012. He’s been described by the Los Angeles Times as “John Hiatt meets Tower of Power” and by Westword as “Keb Mo with horns.” The seven-piece band has won awards for releasing some of the best horn-drenched rock n soul records from Colorado to Amsterdam. Inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2013 (Freddi in 2019 for his years as co-founder and lead singer in the Colorado funk sensation The Freddi Henchi Band). The Kings are celebrating their 37th year of touring internationally with the release of their 16th album (summer 2021 called “What We Did”) and their last album that reached top 40 on the RMR National Radio Airplay Album Chart for more than 35 straight weeks-reaching #1 in October 2018. Chris Daniels was a co-nominee for a Grammy Award in 2013 and has been a two-time “Excellence in Teaching” award winning professor at CU Denver for the past 17 years. He served as the Director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame from 2018 to 2020. Chris was the Director of Swallow Hill Music in the early part of this century (that’s why they call it Daniels Hall) and he is also a cancer survivor and the MC of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

Stardustfest was created with the intention of helping people remember how important it is to express their talents and gifts to the world.
The event name was inspired by the fact that most of the elements that make up the human body were formed in stars. Every atom of oxygen in our lungs, of carbon in our muscles, of calcium in our bones, of iron in our blood was created inside a star before Earth was born.
We are stardust, why not dream big and live life as beings with limitless potential?
The power of our existence is incredible and when we activate our gifts and talents during these types of events, pure love is amplified to a higher level.

Have you ever struggled with self-image, confidence or negative thoughts? Do you want to learn how to navigate emotions and organize your brain? Are you looking for a new way to manage your own mental health? As a society, we often describe “mental strength” as a positive attribute but we do not learn, teach, or support ourselves to develop and improve it. The Mentally STRONG Method can be learned and used to promote the development of mental strength.
The Mentally STRONG Method is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach developed by Dr. Cristi Bundukamara, EdD, PMHNP, to overcome common challenges. It adds an organizational component to typical CBT which is designed to increase awareness on how one’s thoughts (cognitive) influence one’s choices (behavioral) and challenge negative thinking in order to make choices to improve one’s life.
Learn The Mentally STRONG Method as a framework that teaches you how to be Mentally STRONGer.
Continental Breakfast and Lunch included, also includes your own copy of “Discover the Mentally STRONG Method

“[Randall] Goosby plays like an angel with nothing to prove,” claims the L.A. Times. The youngest recipient ever to win the Sphinx Concerto Competition and an artist dedicated to the dynamic music of Black composers, violinist Randall Goosby joins the Festival to perform a scintillating work by Saint-Saëns and Florence Price’s sweeping Second Violin Concerto. This concerto by Price was lost to history until 2009; similarly, the orchestral version of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Solemn Prelude was only recently rediscovered. The “energetic yet graceful” Ryan Bancroft (The Guardian), conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, joins the Festival to lead Sibelius’ sonorous Second Symphony; Sibelius once said of its first movement, “It is as if the Almighty had thrown down the pieces of a mosaic for heaven’s floor and asked me to put them together.”

“If you want to hear perfection, this is it,” says Music Director Peter Oundjian of Mozart’s final concerto, especially in the talented hands of pianist Simone Dinnerstein. “Ultimately, it is Dinnerstein’s unreserved identification with every note she plays that makes her performance so spellbinding,” says The Washington Post. Mozart is at his most majestic and most beautiful in his Symphony No. 39. Ryan Bancroft conducts this all-Mozart program, which begins with a dark and intense serenade for winds.

This installment of the Robert Mann Chamber Series begins with Mozart’s jaunty First Flute Quartet, followed by the brief but profound Movement for String Trio by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson. Dvořák’s complex Terzetto in C, written for two violins and viola, begins with lyrical sweetness and develops gorgeous drama along the way. The autumnal feeling behind Brahms’ lauded Clarinet Quintet ends this program with a stunning sunset of music.

Event Details
Ariel Posen’s music occupies the space between genres. It’s a rootsy sound that nods to his influences — heartland rock & roll, electrified Americana, blue-eyed soul, R&B, Beatles-inspired pop — while still moving forward, pushing Posen into territory that’s uniquely his own. He turns a new corner with Headway, a solo album that finds the songwriter taking stock of his personal and musical progress.
Posen began recording Headway in December 2019, one week after wrapping up international touring in support of his acclaimed debut, How Long. He’d been on the road for a year and a half, playing shows across the U.K., Europe, America, and his native Canada. Along the way, Posen had received standing ovations not only from his audiences, but also from outlets like Rolling Stone, who dubbed him “a modern-day guitar hero,” Music Radar listing him as a fan voted top 10 rock guitarist of the year, and the Western Canadian Music Awards, who nominated him for Breakout Artist of the Year.
Coming back home to Winnipeg, he began sifting through the new songs he’d written between tour dates. Many of them had already been tested on the road, their arrangements whittled into shape by a group of road warriors at the top of their game. Practically all of them were about the process of evolution — of making progress in life, love, and all points in between. Those themes were reflected in the music itself, which presented a crisper, clearer picture of Posen as a songwriter. If How Long had been his introduction to the roots-music world, then Headway was something different: a sharply-defined snapshot of a musician who has truly crystallized his sound.
Like its title suggests, Headway is all about growth. Already celebrated as a frontman, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Ariel Posen hits a new high-water mark with his second album — an album that prioritizes songwriting above all else, showcasing the progress of a lifelong musician who’s still in the middle of an upward trajectory.

Principal Guest Conductor Jean-Marie Zeitouni conducts a special Midsummer Night’s Dream. This performance pairs Mendelssohn’s lush score, which includes the instantly recognizable “Wedding March,” with a dramatic reading by actor John de Lancie (American Shakespeare Festival, TV’s Star Trek The Next Generation) to summon Shakespeare’s fairies, royalty, and fools in love. Mendelssohn penned Midsummer’s overture at age 17; Bizet was the same age when he wrote his Symphony in C, a surprisingly mature work, effervescent and full of contrasts. The program opens with a brand new orchestral arrangement of Jessie Montgomery’s vivid Starburst, which is, in her words, “a play on imagery of rapidly changing musical colors.”
